XXXXXIII: Press & Styling: Curation Redux

I had the pleasure of being a part of the premiere cover of Curation Redux
- a new magazine, launched and curated by Benjamin Walls.

This beauty editorial had Meggie M. from M.A.C as the makeup artist and Anna Gaul from Stephen Marr on hair. It was photographed by Oliver Rose and styled by myself. The hand-knitted and embroidered piece worn by the model, Cindy @ Clyne Models, is from Perennial 2013 which is currently in stock at Miss Crabb.

Limited copies of Issue No. 1 of Curation Redux will be sold at  Miss Crabb and Children of Vision in Auckland, along with Dead Set stores in Christchurch and Wellington.

XXXV: Styled: Foliage

An editorial that I styled and art directed earlier this year, with Rouse Magazine photographer Benjamin Walls.
It features a selection of womenswear from Zambesi and Miss Crabb (including Penny Sage and one of my own pieces), menswear from Zambesi, my wardrobe archives; with two fragrance notes and jewellery by Zora Boyd from Wunderkammer.

Foliage, flowers and general shrubbery from various gardens and Ponsonby flower shops. Enjoy.

Also: Thank you to the patient people at French Revolver Studio.

Images from an editorial which features pieces from HANDMADE VI.
The first two images are of a jumper made entirely of recycled sari silk with black overdye,
while the third image features a hand knitted singlet of organic bamboo ribbon.

XXXII: Previously Styled & Co-Directed: Les Femmes Damnées

Here are some images from an editorial that I styled and co-directed with Oliver Rose
over a year ago. The shoot was a project that began as a series of experiments with draped cloth,
light and nostalgia. Once again, it predominantly displays a selection
from my personal wardrobe and archives.

A recurring theme in my work, its title was derived from a Baudelaire poem in Les Fleurs du Mal

IX: Zine Lutefisk

Just found some new editorial press; in the third, Kiwi Issue of Zine Lutefisk

COV Jumper 3:
Experiment with Tea,
Muslin and Silk : I
09.06.10

This particular piece is rather special to me for the following reasons:
I- It is made (almost entirely) of pure cotton muslin, which I stripped, treated and skeined by hand.
II- This is the muslin I personally brought from a Zoroastrian-garb tailor in India, when I was there last year.
III- There is some tea-stained silk jersey in this jumper, which I removed from an "unsuccessful" project that took me approximately 8 hours to construct and around 5 minutes to dismantle.

It now resides in Children of Vision where they take good care of it, before it finds a nice new home.
